This itinerary, although relatively short, runs through the most rugged environment of the region: the mountains, pine forests and ravines that surround Valmadrid.
The route begins descending slightly down the A-1108 road towards Torrecilla de Valmadrid and, soon after, turns off to the right onto a track that, in a long climb, leads to the Valdesimpor repeater. From there, you descend through pine trees to Puebla de Albortón, where you take the road again towards Belchite. After 500m, the route turns off, again to the right, towards Zafrané’s Gorge, a curious limestone ravine that we will cross completely. Now it only remains to go up to the pine forests of Valmadrid and descend by track to the town.
It is essential to carry water. The only fountain on the route are in Valmadrid and Puebla de Albortón.
The route can be started in either of the two towns.
