A demanding route that allows you to visit and get to know several of the most interesting places in the region, such as the pine forests of Valmadrid, the Foz de Zafrané, the Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora del Pueyo or the Pista de los Barbis.
The route can be started from Valmadrid, Belchite or Puebla de Albortón. If you start from Valmadrid, the route heads south through the pine forests and along the route of the old Utrillas railroad until you reach Belchite. On the way back, the route passes through Puebla de Albortón and then climbs up to the Valdesimpor repeater, an excellent panoramic viewpoint. From there, the route descends quickly along a track to reach the A-1108 road, near Valmadrid.
It is essential to carry water. The only fountains on the route are in the towns it passes by.
Avoid days of cierzo (strong wind from the west) and where you might experience too much sun exposure (e.g. maximum summer sun)
The route can be started in either of the three towns.
There are two sections of trails with some technical difficulty, one downhill in the mountains of Valmadrid at the beginning of the route, and the other uphill on the Pista de los Barbis.
